I have installed java but it wont load on my browers. After uninstalling it and installing again, it says 'This software has already been installed. would you like to reinstall". After pressing yes, i get an error saying this action is only valid for products that are currently installed. How do i do a "clean" uninstall of java?

curious are you installing it on your main system, the one you use to post this thread? If so, please stop doing so. Use virtualbox/vagrant and you can reset your installation as you like.

Messed up installation are part and parcel of the game :s13:

And yes, you need to let people know what kind of os are you using and which version.

Waaa. abit technical leh. i'm just a layman. I'm not even really sure the java i need is for what. I just need it to load some of the things like those streaming stocks from DBSvickers. I could in the past but after uninstall and installing java again, it does not work. I'm on windows 7 home premium 64 bit operating system. Apologies if i don't understand the technical aspects.

hav u tried both offline & online versions of the latest jre install file? sometimes one version succeeds when the other fails.

not tried before, but if all can't u can try below but be extra careful pls:
Registry cleanup after failed Java uninstall

i tried both but it cant work as well. I looked through the registry as well but i can't find the file. Basically i kept looking through the internet for solutions but found none.

my problem is similar to the last post of the following thread:

Unable to uninstall re-install Java - Microsoft Community

but no one replied
