For whatever reason, the girl either confided in him or at least bothered enough to listen to him. This means that he could have found some cafe to talk things out. The girl was likely to agree to the suggestion.

With respect, I would see this as poor EQ by the guy. There's a right place right time for a serious discussion.

I dont even want to take phone call in public etc.
And ppl are openly discussing private matters in public ?

a couple in 20s boarded the train at toa payoh. i think they arent official yet since they kept a certain distance. also based on how they conversed.

the guy was trying to counsel her to reaffirm her feelings about a bad situation. a very serious htht in middle of the train carriage. at first he sounded like a simp. but as he went along, i thought he truly cared for her and wasnt lowering himself.

the girl seemed sincere and quietly contemplated his words

suddenly the carriage bumped and shook. almost losing balance, the girl had to grab the handrail above her head. the guy did the same but as he reached for the handrail, he noticed the girl already holding onto it and reached for the bar above instead.

the girl shook the handrail, signalling for the guy to hold the same one with her.

the guy hesitated and then advanced.

all the best brother stranger. dont know who you are. but you are doing well. seems like your efforts are paying off

they had quite some 夫妻相. look very compatible together
