jumping from SIM to MDIS

I have an advance diploma in IT from MDIS.

however, after failing 3/4 modules over a span of 1 year, I want to change back to MDIS due to their assesment type (80% assignments and 20% exams(CHECKED AND CONFIRMED BY MDIS). Of which even if you fail the exams, they will take assignments into the grading system.

currently, at SIM, I have been getting about 60% for assignments out of a 50:50 split. (thus passing even before the exams are sat for)

However as my exam has hit below the minimum 50%, i have failed. although overall(exam+assignments), i would have gotten about 65 marks.

And i was told this in SIM. Fail assignment nvm. exam must pass.

aka. 20/50 for assignment and 30/50 for exam can. the reverse is not possible.

Is it a good idea to jump? I am much better at doing assignments than exams.

How recognized will MDIS be compared to SIM?

i have no problems with assignments.

but the main issue is, even if i max assignments, exam fail= fail

Exams are inevitable imo, it tests your understanding for the module. Is there any particular reason why did you fail the exam? Maybe you can work on it instead of switching over to mdis.

im just not an exam person. either way, its damn unfair that i fail overall just coz i failed exam..

if i even failed my assignment, it would be fair

exams you can't run away from it,i advise you to study hard .anyone can ace assignment ,but exam is the real deal . How are you able to cope a degree when you can't even managed a diploma.

Why is it unfair if fail exam means fail whole module? The exam is to test what the module had taught overall.

There's no such thing as exam person or not. Only hardworking person or not. If you had studied throughout the whole module then don't need to worry about it. Unless u are those that slack during the first few weeks and only study hard when exan are coming.

but assignments have heigher weightage. And i got around 60%. which means i only need 30% to pass.

If assignment is meant to help you pass, then I dont see it that way if you die die must pass it.

current situation is either fail, or immediate credit. there is not 50% pass.
