Enjoy your NUC. I was using one of the first generation NUCs for my htpc in my bedroom. Saves a lot of space

Try whether you can setup the IR Remote Control.

I've tried using my Logitech Harmony. Still can't get it working.

What problems did u have? Managed to set it up ok on my Harmony remote. But I dun use the remote with my nuc anymore.

Becos, u need to keep the nuc in suspended mode if u want to be able to turn it on or off using the remote. So cannot shutdown the nuc or else u will not be able to power it up using the remote after that.

Intel version has an excellent list of updated reference drivers even inf version if you want a minimal install or put inside mdt.

Support side can RMA to the Penang depot via prepaid FedEx label provided send when its convenient. No service center and long lead time shenanigans. That aside think broadwell and Skylake version started out with very flaky BIOS that only stabilized later in the product cycle.

Skylake version heat sink was somewhat insufficient to cool 2Core + GT3 iris models. Not sure if current models are the same. 3rd party may not have iris.
