Has anyone been to Kamikochi?

I am thinking of visiting in November, was wondering if it would be too cold to engage in outdoor activities. Also, if it is better to take rail or bus, it will take longer to travel by bus but i would assume it is more scenic?

Do note that Kamikochi closes around middle of November.

No it doesnt get too cold once the sun is up - probably about 10-ish degrees.....

You can only take a bus or taxi to Kamikochi - typically you will take a train from matsumoto JR station to Shin-Shimashima station via a private line; there you will transfer to one of the alpico buses to Kamikochi.

The bus ride is scenic.

Kamikochi will be closed on Nov. 16th every year, and on 15th Nov, there is a closing ceremony (more like festival) which is quite nice.
If you go from Tokyo, there is a direct bus from Shinjuku station called Sawayaka-Shinshu-Go. It takes 4.5h and around JPY7,000.
