hi peeps,

I don't see much stuff posted about kaohsiung thus far. Im heading there next week for 6d5n.

Any tips on what to do apart from the usual stuff (e-da, cijin,shoushan,love river,foguangshan,pagoda etc etc)?

budget around NT$14K per pax(purely for spending there). travelling in couples.

As for Kaohsiung, usually people will visit Pier 2. If you're a scenic person you can catch your sunset at 西子湾 or even take a 5min ferry from SihZiWan to旗津(can find it at Fann Wong's Instagram about 21weeks ago hahhaha). What I did in one day was rent a bicycle and roam Pier 2 in the afternoon, then took ferry to SihZiWan with the same bicycle to CiJin for sunset. At the ferry port there's a lane for motorbikes and bicycle to board the ferry.

Shopping in Kaohsiung can go 新崛江. Suitable for teenagers and young adults. If you're in 新崛江 must try their 天使雞排. Hope this is useful somehow!

hello i didnt really venture around for sight-seeing as it was quite an impromptu trip last year.

for night markets u may check out ruifeng NM. i like that its very organized.
and there are also a number of retail shops opposite the NM which u may check them out if the NM is not enough for u. haha

as for accommodation, i stayed in hotel dua, its located @ formosa boulevard metro station (the station which was known for "Dome of Light", the largest glass work in the world).. and the hotel is located bout 1-2 mins walk from the metro exit. and if you're staying here, u may check out liuhe NM which is nearby too.

Kaohsiung is not just for shopping and eat. There are more things to explore if you have enough time, these are some of the places which I have visited before.

打狗英国领事馆 - best view to see sunset
佛光山 - biggest Buddha temple
莲池潭风景区 - depends on timing, sometime there is an event there esp somewhere in Oct
义大游乐世界 - theme park
美浓民俗村 - experience Hakka traditional and food
田寮月世界 - surface of the rock/mountain looks like moon
高雄忠烈祠 - another place to see sunset

There are lots more to list down.

Hi anyone has itinery to share? I am thinking to go Kaohsiung and not sure how many days to stay. Was also thinking to go Tainan or Kenting too. Flyscoot direct to Kaohsiung.

How many days will be best?

Last year went 7days to Taipei, Keelung, Taichung, Cingjing, Hualien and Yilan. Package includes Typhoon Dujuan
