Karaoke style video editing software

Hi all, I'm looking for a video editing software to create some karaoke effect music videos (ie the lyrics lit up along with the song played) for a senior citizen care centre. Preferably free software.

I tried Youtube Movie Maker which is good but it is only free to export as vid file for 5 mins or less videos. My video is definitely more than 5 mins so may need to sign up their Gold Edition (one time 2yrs) that costs US$29.99. I don't mind to spend some budget if that's the only option but just to check if there are any better value for money ones out there.

I’ve made a few karaoke-style videos for my uncle’s birthday parties, and syncing lyrics to music can take some patience, especially if the timing isn’t consistent. I ended up using a basic editor first to chop up the video and line things up, then added the lyrics manually. It takes time, but once you get the rhythm of it, it’s not too bad. I get why the 5-minute export limit is a pain though.

I use this free video cutter that works well with bigger files: https://www.movavi.com/learning-portal/free-video-cutter.html. It’s been handy for quick edits without needing to pay or install heavy software. You might find it useful too.
