keep 1080 or get 2060?

So my 1080 warranty is expiring this year nov, was wondering if i should sell/trade it off and get a 2060

i mainly use it for gaming like division 2, mordhau, VR etc

Computer specs:

Cpu: amd ryzen 5 2600
Motherboard: GIGABYTE AB350-GAMING
Graphic card: MSI AERO GTX 1080
Ram: Corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz 8gb x2
Power: Thermaltake RGB 500W
SSD: Crucial MX500

i'm not sure if i'm utilizing the 1080 fully though and if i need to upgrade my PSU for it as well

You should keep your gtx 1080, your current gpu is a bit overkill for a monitor like this. Think about this, rtx come out for quite a while already but there's only 3 games so far that supports Ray tracing. I suggest u to wait for more games that uses Ray tracing feature then u change to a RTX gpu.

keep 1080. use 2060 for what. 2060 slower than 1080

Moving from 1080 to 2060 will not improve game performance. In fact in most cases, the older GPU will still do better, and especially the extra 2GB of VRAM can make the difference at resolution of 1440p or higher. If you sell the 1080 off, you probably will end up paying extra for a 2060. If you are just curious about RTX, I rather you wait a year or 2 before jumping on this bandwagon. The 2060 is barely making it with RTX and DLSS on.

Thus my recommendation is to keep.

I'm still running gtx 1080 sli from 5 years ago. Most games still can run max settings with no problem.

What to do. The cards dun want to die. I did replace my motherboard n cpu n ram when it died.

Aiming for rtx 2080 ti in future

Oh sorry. It should be gtx 980. So gtx980 sli still can run most games at max settings.

since the 1080 is still going keep it, the bitcoin craze have died down a little bit. if me i would wait until amd release their their vega 64 replacement and this would drive down price significantly for 2060 or wait until black friday to hoot 2060 with better drivers or 2060 ti variant with better ddr
