My lecturer just told me today that he actually wrote in 2 letters, 1 to straits times and 1 to PMO, to ask for equal rights for single parents, Mother or father.

But straits times didnt publish it and PMO didn't do anything.

He wrote in because he has a staff in his office who's a single mom who didn't have anyone else to look for help, and when she went into labour, she couldn't get any help except my lecturer and his wife. While he did gave her maternity leaves, but she didn't get any of the other benefits that normal families got.
