It was also the same period last year. Last year was from 5th - 16th. The reason is probably because there are other illumination events in Osaka starting from the 15th.

Ah sad man. Any others in Kansai that is as grand? Was really looking forward to it. Kind of strange that this supposedly a Christmas Lighting kind of festival will stop short before Christmas.

Osaka had 2 christmas lighting last year

The grand one was the Osaka Castle 3D mapping. Must pay money to get in.

The other one was the hikari renaissance

P.S There are also smaller scale ones like there was one at the osaka station

Is it for Xmas? Tot it's just one of their winter activities given that sun sets earlier. Anyway, while the others might not be as grand and large scale, you can see mini lightings in osaka interchange station.. Saw quite a few there last yr, though it was nth compared to Kobe's. Didn't know it was so grand and really made my 1 hour of waiting worth it
