Use Vietnam airlines. Going time can get as short STOPOver as 2.5 hrs at hcmc. Return a bit longer. Can get for as low as $505 include all tax.

I am stopping over in hcmc and going out to check the city on my return flight.

vietnam airlines can be rubbish. But it's a short flight. So who cares.

If Malaysia airlines. Lucky lucky can get about 600
Scoot also can get about 700 with just an hour stop in Taiwan to and fro

[lcpteck]

MH usually can get $500 or cheaper if booked a bit earlier.

[durianster]

will try vietnam airlines.

Beware of pickpockets in Vietnam.
