Kusatsu Onsen

Hi all,

Just checking if anyone stayed at kusatsu onsen before? Any recommendation for the ryokan there? I tried searching on OTA but seems like many of them are sold out. Looking at mid-Feb 2020

Also, does anyone seems to know if there's any special event in Feb 2020? Was booking hotel accommodation around Nagano & Minakami area (even for Tokyo), many of the hotel seems to be selling out fast or even fully booked.

Am I too late to book for Feb 2020?

You're too early for booking, usually open for booking 6 months before the actual date.

I stayed in Kusatsu Onsen Boun in November 2017. I like it because it is a quiet ryokan and the onsens are not overcrowded. It is a short walk to Yubatake. Do note that the roads are really slippery because of the snow (yes, it snowed in November at Kusatsu ) so walking uphill to the ryokan and downhill to Yubatake can be quite a chore.
