pitchfork peasants no fight against train soldiers with semi-modern firearms. besides, even if they can counter one angmoh adversary, they cant fend off different groups of angmohs eyeing that land. dutch, spainards, portuguese, english, any and every one is possible to take the peasants out.

Even if the Dutch did not conquer it first, it probably will not survive invasion by its successor the current Indonesian republic, in a similar way that East Timor was invaded too and occupied.

In fact I did not know this republic even existed until your thread, and I had to look it up. So it's probably just a small republic with little power at that time, even less than East Timor where they at least continued to wage guerilla war against the Indonesians despite the occupation.

Singapore is actually the 2nd Lanfang republic. Many of their descendants fled to Singapore.
