Hi all
A newbie here. Am looking at buying a new laptop that I would use for the following:
1) normal work such as word processing, powerpoint editing and etc
2) surf interface
3) watch HD movies
4) play games such as CS GO and Battlefield 2
My budget is about $1.2K and after some research, i think these are the features I wish to get:
1) Brand wise, either one of these: Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Toshiba, Dell (mainly for reliability reason). HP is definitely out.
2) Prefer a Quad core processor (QM designation), does not mind i5 or i7 though but should be >2.4Ghz Turbo with 3MB/6MB L3 cache
3) Must have dedicated graphic card (gpu) such as Nvidia Geforce GT series (does not matter much whether it is 6xxM or 7xxM) with minimally 2GB DDR3, hopefully 4GB DDR3 if possible
4) screen should be 14", HD, and minimally 1366x768, hopefully higher def (no need Touch screen)
5) 8GB RAM (minimum must be 4GB)
6) 750GB SATA (prefer minimally 7200rpm) with hopefully 24GB SSD
7) Maximum 2.3Kg
8) Prefer 2 yrs international warranty, minimum must be 1 yr international
9) Windows 8
I find that only Asus A45VS meet most of the requirements but I wonder whether the experts here know of any other sets so that I can zoom in, compare and decide, please?
