Hi guys
I just bought a laptop, the CPU is an i7 5500U.

When I'm on battery, it seems more laggy than when I'm on ac power.

Is this normal? It seems the CPU will clock down if on battery?

How to check the cpu clock speed?

Yes, it is normal to experience a slight difference in performance owing to the different power plan settings I.e. Battery savers mode that as it's name states helps conserve battery.

What operating system are you on btw?

Yes. That is possible. The intel turboboost technology works only on AC power. So on battery, your processor will throttle at 2.4GHz. On AC power, it can reach up to 3.0GHz with turboboost. :)
