Hi

I have a 4+year old Fujitsu E8210 laptop here and its audio has stopped working(suspect faulty speakers). Can somebody recommend any individuals/shops which would be able to diagnose and fix it without exorbitant fees? I don't have good vibes about the backlane repair shops at sls so I would appreciate any recommendations.

Btw I would only be willing to pay around $50 to get it fixed since its such a old laptop already. Thanks in advance.

For Fujitsu E8210, there is a higher chance of motherboard failure. In addition, totally no sound -> mobo issue, Distorted sound -> Speakers issue. The unit have 2 speakers, thus even if the speakers fail, it is usually unlike for both speakers to failure at the same time. To confirm, try plugging in and external earpiece to the audio slot. If you can hear sound from the external earpiece, then it is likely speakers (motherboard also possible). If no sound, then confirm motherboard issue.

We do speakers repaired. 1 speaker - $60. If both speakers, $80 for both. But frankly speaking, if speakers faulty, you might as well get a portable external speaker like x-mini and use it. It will be cheaper.

For motherboard repair of this model, it is not recommended as fujitsu glue their ICs to the board, which means removal is difficult with only a 70% chance of solving the problem. Mobo repair is around $150, but not recommended for this model. There is another way to repair the mobo is easier and cheaper but may not last long.
