I'm trying to open my Lenovo Y580 up to clean out dust but the two screws at the bottom back will only spin without coming out. Any idea how to fix it? Or any shops you guys can recommend for cleaning laptop dust out? Thanks!

Got any photos? Are the screws tight or what. Maybe your screw driver not enough contact/you using a different sized screw driver from the indentations it has

Seem common issue with Lenovo laptop. Think the plastic part holding the nut for the screw is broken. That is why screw can spin but cannot be loosen.

I suspect so also. I tried using glue to bond my screwdriver to the nut but it isn't strong enough.

The screw is just like any normal screw. I suspect the internal thread is slightly off.

If you want to use glue, you can try JB Weld. It is a really strong epoxy. It can be found in a shop at Handyman Centre, in Shaw Centre.

But one thing to note, if you do epoxy, make sure you do it for the screw thread holder plastic. Don't epoxy back the casing, else next time will have hard time opening it. :)
