Noob question Is there any differences if you plug the laptop into monitor vs plug the desk top? Will the display quality detoriate?

Just realize this is an old 2017 thread that got necro from the dead. Anyway as to your question must see what laptop or desktop you are talking about. If both are on par in specs with same maximum resolution support the quality should be the same. Have to see what connection vga dvi hdmi or display port you are using also to connect to tv to determine what is the maximum resolution that you can support to the tv.

Display quality generally will not detoriate but video smooth or not will depends on whether lappy or desktop specs up to playing the require video resolution or not.

well to add on what others have said, depends on which type of panel u getting, VA,TN IPS and the color calibration on the latop usually u cant do anything about it, but normal monitor still can.

as for for display quality deteriorate means what for u? care to explain?
