Anyone using the Philips OLED 77" TVs?
I'm using the 77" 789 OLED, purchased a year ago. Ambilight is good, it can add to the atmosphere beyond the screen itself. Satisfied with the PQ although it's more of an entry level model. OLED is OLED and its blacks beats LCD anytime. Only gripe is the OS (Google TV) is a bit sluggish.

Hi all,

Looking to get a 75". Mostly just for watching shows like on Netflix, YouTube and some light gaming (Nintendo Switch 2 for kids). Me and wife aren't super particular on picture quality, our current TV is 8 years old and tiny so any 4K TV will be a massive upgrade already.

Saw a Sony Bravia 3 for $1.7k, but reviews generally don't seem good...

Then happened to walk past Xiaomi store, their new mini-LED TV also $1.7k, better specs than the Bravia 3. But not sure what the general consensus is on their TV.

I saw TCL C6KS, lagi cheaper at $1.5k. Product generally seems to have good reviews, but heard that TCL distributor in SG is terrible lol.

Anyway TLDR, any recommendations? Probably looking at this price range.. Honestly for us, the most important factor is UX responsiveness. 60Hz is fine, mini-LED is a luxury. As long as not laggy to switch to & browse eg. Netflix we're mostly happy
Wow! Sounds good! Does any shop physical or online sell the Xiaomi S Mini-LED tv at 86"?

Especially when watching 4k HDR content. And that's a very good price for the TV.
Yeah, I had a limited budget to begin with.
Initially, I was eyeing the 75-inch Hisense U8Q Mini LED at around 3.5k. It delivers incredible brightness, but I found the colors a tad little too vibrant to my liking. My living room also isn't bright enough to really take advantage of that level of brightness.
A typical 75-inch OLED, like the Samsung S90F, is around 5k. I managed to find an LG C5 (last year's model) being cleared out at a steep discount. The color accuracy and true blacks are fantastic. I literally compared almost every TV in the store before deciding, at the end of the day, TV choice is very subjective and it really comes down to personal preference.

Dude, how long ago was that? Prices will change, and that's a good thing.
So its not the size that's the sweet spot LOL! It's the price, let me have a go, regardless of the prices 98 to 100 inches is the sweet spot for me!

The sweet spot is influenced by price, which governs the size we can own, and that changes from time to time.
Secondly, the home size is also important which influences the viewing distance, and how far we sit from the TV.

My choice of size is not influenced by price but by utility and entertainment value and if anything, prices these days are low enough to go up to 98 to 100 inches, this is evidenced by a HDB resident recently buying a 100 plus inch size TV, where a few years ago only landed property owners could afford them.

My home size and viewing distance dictates the size and my minimum size is 85 to 86 inches anything smaller at 6m viewing distance and subs are unreadable and and immersiveness is totally lost.

TCL has come a long way, so has other major Chinese TV manufacturers like Hisense. There is a wide offering from TCL at 75", you can get a $1.5k model, or you can also get a $6.5k model. so do your research which model you think is most suitable. and perhaps you can consider getting it online via the 8.8 sale, which would be a lot more convenient than hustling with the crowd at COMEX.

oh nice... i was looking at C6K but after google the difference, think C6KS will be better for elderly parents as no need high frame rates.

thank you wacko~
