CPU + Mobo : R5-1600 + ASUS B350M-A ($470)
GPU : Zotac GTX1070 Twin Fan ($609)
RAM : Kingston 2133MHz 16GB ValueRAM ($162)
SSD : Samsung EVO850 250GB ($159)
HDD : WD Blue 1TB ($72)
Casing : Fractal Design R5 ($169)
PSU : Corsair TX550W Gold ($143)

Total : $1784

Prices from PCThemes. Source components from multiple stores/online might be cheaper.

OS can get from Carousell for less than $20.

HDD/SSD Size depend on how much data you need to store.
GPU chose Zotac for 5-yr warranty.

Casing should go and see what mATX casing you like, Fractal Design/NZXT/Phanteks cases quite nice imo.

Look at my specs on the right :) 6 cores 12 threads for the price of 4 cores 4 threads on Intel side. So far looks okay, my most recent games I bought recently is Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Looks good, plays well, no issue whatsoever. Even overclocked to 3.75 GHz on all 6 cores with stock cooler.

Search on carousell. We cannot link you directly to seller. Haha.

Yes, definitely go R5-1600 over i5-7500. I really regret not waiting awhile more for Ryzen. But Uni holiday start I too eager to build lol
