instead of setting a budget first, i think a better way is to find out wat u need and how much u need first. if it is not something u can afford, den adjust it downward.

else, some insurance agent might jus try to max out ur budget regardless if it is to ur best interest anot.

It depends on your needs and preference too. Cash Value or Low Premium? Sole Breadwinner? Permanent job or "temporary job".

$200-$300 is a healthy budget but how much do you need and why? If you are earning 100k per annum. $200-$300 might not provide you enough coverage.

something need to clear:
what period do you prefer to cover? before age 65 or after 65?
before 65, better select term insurance
after choose life policy
