if I were to compare this to those regular 1 Carton of eggs(12eggs) and remove the yolks when I eat, I think 1 carton of eggs would cost about 2-3sgd and you get about 50g of protein , this you get about 57g of protein at 5bucks, so it's not really that cheap imo

No one said convenience is cheap? :D

You buy a raw whole chicken and a roasted chicken, which is more expensive? To get liquid egg whites, there is an additional extraction process which normal egg farms would not need..

You wan cheap and good where to find? Lol..

Just eat the whole damn egg.

And shipping eggs from Australia probably isn't a good idea.

Life is gd in Oz if u are into lifting iron. Raw meat is cheap in Oz. There are plenty of hardcore and globo gyms around, some are 24 hrs. But big brand supps are more costly than those sold here.

what abt cholestrol?
I take 3-4 eggs a day and dont think taking all the yoke is a good idea

First of all, an egg has a yolk, not a yoke.

Secondly, dietary cholesterol contributes very little to serum cholesterol, unless you're hypersensitive to it or have a pre-existing condition. Only ~30% of the population is sensitive. If you're really worried, take a blood test now, eat some eggs for a few weeks, then take a blood test again and see if there are any differences. Better yet, take blood tests regularly so you're on top of your own health markers.

eh gala 30% doesn't sound that insignificant? :s11:

I never got my blood/lipid test check too. Should get one done soon.

Those numbers are off the top of my head. I believe that's the ballpark figure. Yup, it ain't insignificant. But realize that even if you're in the 30%, and your serum cholesterol levels rise to so called unhealthy levels, they really don't mean a lot, because total cholesterol levels aren't that correlated to CHD/mortality/etc compared to stuff like triglycerides/LDL/HDL.

I eat at least 4-6 eggs per day, after adopting this diet for 4 months, my total cholesterol was measured at 180 mg/dl (around 4.65 mmol/l)

Before that, I don't work out at all, eat eggs around 1-2 per day. my cholesterol hovering around 280 mg/dl (around 7+ mmol/l)

Other than eggs, my diet are pretty much the same, it's just I eat more meat + drink a lot of milk during the period when I'm working out. And I still eat same old unhealthy foods.

The only thing concerning me is that my uric acid goes up to "high level" when I'm working out.

So, my conclusion, egg yolk does not affect my cholesterol level much if I work out regularly. Lifting weight helps me reduce my cholesterol level to more healthy region.

You should try yourself and do blood test after 2-3 months, what works for me may not work for you :s13:

i eat 4-6 eggs a day, and my cholesterol level went down due to increased in exercise activities...

I think again, if you eat 2-3 plates of food per meal, you will have an increased in cholesterol level if you eat more egg yolk.

Else, it just more nutrition to the body.

Am I the only one who's confused?
