Upgrading. I have a corsair mid tower case, hyper212 evo cooler, and 650w Psu. Looking for recommendations on brand combination for the following that would fit:

Mobo+i5 CPU
Gtx 1070 GPU
Ram

Concerned mostly over reliability rather than cost. No overclocking needed. Will self assemble and prefer buying at Sim Lim over online so can get it done over the weekend. Thanks!

i heard people using msi motherboard , their computer auto shut down and turn on so i will not advise you to use msi products. u can check out asus motherboards from the website.

http://www.fuwell.com.sg/

If not overclocking , u can consider h270 series motherboards.

Would go with the latest (7th Gen) unless there's good reasons not to. Doesn't seem like there's too much of a price difference.

sigh... bro u intending to reuse your cpu or no? mobo and cpu is not plug and play one. if the socket type dun match, u get what mobo also no use.

What? When did I say I was going to reuse my cpu? I said I was looking to upgrade.

Edit: Ok can see why might have been confusing, looking to get new cpu, mobo, GPU and ram.

oh. so your old cpu u not going to use ah? selling away or what?

may i know how old is it to see if it justifies an upgrade?

otherwise u can simply consider a i5-6500 or i5-7500.

what's the purpose of your rig?

Old one is 4th gen haha. Think can treat myself to new one.

Most demanding is just gaming but I don't usually play the most graphically demanding kind. E.g Civ 6 on max graphics on 1440p
