What do people go for in term of choosing the brand for custom PC?

Like for Aftershock/Dreamcore/Mansa,

Do people go for value/part brands/aftersales support ? Heard mixed reviews regarding aftershock PC

Currently looking for upgrade my existing PC,
Looking at Mansa with their parts

CPU : Ryzen 5 5600X
Mobo : Gigabyte b550m aorus elite
Cooler : id cooling se226-xt
GPU : ASUS RTX 3060 12GB
SSD : 512 GB Transcend MTE220S NVMe or Samsung evo plus 970 500gb NVMe?
HDD : Seagate 1TB HDD
Ram : Corsair RGB Vengeance Pro SL 16 or 32gb 3600MHz?
PSU : Seasonic focus GX 750W 80+ Gold or Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold?

Is there any suggestion with the RAM/PSU/SSD?

Will Seasonic focus GX750W be overkill as it seem like GX650W is out of stock?

Your setup looks decent. Infact 750w from Seasonic works fine. I will choose seasonic over Corsair, dont get me wrong, Corsair is as good but their modular cables are chunky. I find them rather restricting airflow in a case if you have intake air from the bottom like the Lian Li Lancool 2 mesh.

Others might ask you to go 850w or even 1k but I would say stick to the requirement for now as future upgrades, the PSU might change standard to ATX12VO.

Just to share my experience, I have enquired this shop from time to time, if I do not have the time to do builds for others. This shop is trust worthy and good after sales services. ssd i would go samsung. ram wise depends on what other apps u use on ur pc, if just gaming/web surfing then 16gb should be enough. psu either are good quality though 750w is probably overkill for a 5600x + 3060, u could get by with even a decent 500w psu.

Looking at the question and parts selected by TS it is a good mid range build.

It is clear that the choice of component main priority are based on value + performance in consideration.

All parts considered, the mentioned local well known branding custom builder normally offering bundle services at significant higher margin due to their resources (employee and rents) overhead.

Many of these custom builder are more towards hardware based troubleshooting instead of software based in long term basis and assisting in hardware warranty claims.

In my opinion if TS was experienced PC users or seasonal DIY custom builder, you can easily troubleshoot and save the after sales premium charge by these custom builders.

My suggestion:

RAM: 3600MHz (32GB) more smooth in gaming and streaming as well as multiple monitors requirements based on my experience.

PSU: Seasonic focus GX 850W 80+ Gold (10 years warranty) to cater for current or future high end GPU upgrade that required pcie cable x3 in case you manage to hunt down a high-end GPU 3080 or higher tier at bargain prices.

Many PSU owners with 750w or below will be limited to only 2x PCIe cable and you can only lock in mid range GPU for future upgrade.

Warranty for Corsair 650w only last for 5 years.

SSD: Both are fine for OS however Samsung have better software and firmware support based on experience and update more frequently through the Samsung Magician software.

I mostly source my parts from Amazon but recently I also tend to navigate through local reseller on shopee or carousell who can provide competitive pricing with local warranty in mind.

Main point was most since PC component is now on bargain sales together with GPU prices stabilized, it is best for TS to do some home works and comparing prices among all resources provided in this thread for more value add on purchase.

Take note for AMD, recommend to get RAM that are AMD compatible for optimal performance.

Other RAM can work but RAM kit that are AMD Ryzen compatible will work optimally.

if you not going to do so much multitasking. 16GB rams is good to go and on budget side. but personally I will go with 32GB but for my case is, I use alot multitasking program in one go, but for most games, you only need 16G. other gamer bros might correct me if I am wrong.

pretty expected pricing for mansa, their builds are quite expensive for what theyre worth. dreamcore has the 5600 non x + 16gb ram + 500gb nvme + 6750 xt + 750w psu for just under 2k, 3060ti model closer to 1.9k, both of which are considerably faster than a 3060 build, maybe can consider. though if u are open to diy, u could stand to save a lot and also get longer warranties for some parts.

Thanks, I will probably will go along with Mansa given the parts is what i preferred. Will take a close lookout for the 5600 non x too!
