I bought a new Toshiba 2 TB hdd from sls today to try and see if it's really the drive failing. And also bought a new Sata cable.
Got back, installed, plugged out all other drives except ssd. Still same r/w results on the brand new Toshiba. Could it be motherboard on board controller up lorry?

no idea what is going on anymore.

Resetted bios, changed power cable, changed SSD sata 3 port to SATA 2 port, still the same performance.
Is it really the drive?
My last resort is to get a new drive and try..
do u kno how to install & run ubuntu from usb stick (no install)? find "gnome-disks" & run benchmark, to dbl-check if ur prob is os- or driver-related or not... some pics,

Since your HDD and SSD both have the same problem, then it should be either the BIOS corrupted or SATA controller up lorry.

If the latter, then I would suggest RMA or get a new MB.

You can also consider a PCIe SATA card.

and no install to ssd/hdd required (select "try ubuntu w/o installing" when asked)

hope u got wat i meant...

if you test again, can u untick "perform write-benchmark" as wat i did
jus to make sure access times are not affected by write-testing...

unsure rma-wise, but if they install win10 to run test hopefully get same problem
