Yeah, the thing you're describing here is a boutique M&A firm that specialises in small tech firms. It's a mini-Houlihan Lokey. You have to pay for lawyers, you have to pay for admin staff, you have to pay for VPs and MDs to hunt down the sellers, and you have to pay for VPs and MDs to hunt down the buyers. None of those things come cheap.
And you'll have to hunt down a lot of acquisition targets, because the usual charge for M&A is a percentage of the deal value; small targets means you have to do high volume.
well it seems currently those successful M&A advisors are too well-paid that they see no point in taking on this industry pioneering move..
Just saying, mate - you have an awfully high opinion of yourself if you think this is an "industry pioneering move".
