These are the lines I brought with me for holiday while in Guangzhou

All roaming, while in the hotel

• ZYM: average 165 mbps 5G
• Maxx : average 294.03 mbps 5G ( was using the shared 600GB )
• Simba: average 130 mbps 5G ( 16 dollar recharged package 500GB )

Streaming Youtube using data plan and not hotel wifi:

• zym : smooth but no prolong using ( data plan not as much as both Maxx and Simba )
• Maxx : smooth
• Simba: smooth

None of them exceed 10GB data...

Some places loading the WeChat mini program website experience in restaurants

• ZYM: smooth ( support China Mobile / Telecom / Unicom ) --- mostly connected China Mobile / Telecom during the trip
• Maxx: smooth (support China Mobile / Telecom ) ---mostly connected China Mobile / Telecom during the trip
• Simba: will struggle as it trying to get hold -- possible due to only one roaming partners China Telecom

Metro Experience: CNN news, surfing website, youtube, shopping taobao

• ZYM: smooth
• Maxx: smooth
• Simba: quite stable, sometimes at different stops will slow

Some of my friends who are on Eight 5G+ Power Plan and Ultra Plan had some issues connecting when attempt to pay the toll passenger entry to take the underground metro train.
These are limited to places... they able to resolve after I provided hotspot for them to use SIMBA and it was very stable.

None of my data plan hits more than 5GB per day while visiting places

Did a speed test today using Maxx at redhill MRT - At Chagee and it is struggling to get upload speed .. lolz

thanks for sharing your experience in China. My friend recently ported to maxx from Simba also said maxx is fast in China.

Recently I went KL and Sepang, maxx is fast, but my zym sometimes not as smooth.

I am mostly on Maxx in China while using the apps like wechat / didi / and AMAP, I rarely need to swap data plan to zym. The reason is quite simple both are using two major china telco if Maxx is failing... zym will likely as well.

Next trip will be Korea.... where Maxx had zero advantage on data over SIMBA as I still left with 440GB from the 16 dollar recharged. ZYM / Maxx wlll be using their APAC roaming....

Maxx has no problem using in korea. Done that already. Haha.

Does Maxx allow long-term roaming with staying outside SG for months? AFAIK, the only catch is the 26GB FUP.

Yup, 26 GB per day. So as long as the daily usage has been kept under 26GB, Maxx will not throttle the data roaming speed, right?

Meanwhile, Simba prohibits the “continuous or sustained use of roaming mobile data (i.e., mobile data usage outside of Singapore on a non-SIMBA mobile network) for a period exceeding thirty (30) consecutive days without the SIM returning to Singapore and connecting to SIMBA’s home mobile network”. And Simba does enforce it by throttling. So I’m wondering if Maxx has similar policy or not.

just be frank about what you trying to do

years ago there are foreigners or PR who needed this function , to login SingPass look at their CPF (accumulated from years of working in Singapore and selling their HDB flat) while they back in their home country lower cost of living
they needed SG number as low cost as possible while the sim card is forever overseas .... the target was circlelife $0 plan

also, during sign-up, Maxx allows customers to choose search for a string of numbers in the mobile phone number (e.g., 123456) and voila, they have the number that I have been wanting to have!
