I have a mac mini which i rarely use. And today, when i want to use it, the Bluetooth selection icon is missing. Hence, I am unable to pair my wireless keyboard.

Can anyone help? Thanks

Can you check System Preferences -> Bluetooth and see if you're able to turn it on from there?

The Bluetooth icon disappeared. It was previously there, but not anymore. in the top right hand corner bar, when i click on the bluetooth icon, it says Blue tooth : Not Available

Tried deleting bluetooth.plist from Preferences/Library and also reset SMC. Sadly both does not work.

Thanks

It could mean that your Bluetooth module is dead.

1. Open up System Information (in your applications -> utilities folder)
2. On the left hand pane look for Bluetooth

If nothing is detected it could mean that your Bluetooth module has fried.

The file Bluetooth.prefPane is still there. You may be right, it could have been fried, i just found out 2 of my USB slots are not working anymore. I will see if it is worth sending for repairs.

Thanks guys

Pleased to update on my issues with the mini mac. For those who may face similar problems, I managed to resolve the issues.

I upgraded OSX from Mavericks to Sierra and everything (USB ports, Bluetooth) are back in working order.

Cheers
