Sld I get macbook pro(2012 model) or retina macbook pro? Read online that the normal macbook pro can b easily upgraded(ram&hdd), while the retina version can only have its hdd upgraded? Any insights n recommendations on this? Tkx.

Buy MacBook Pro retina fully upgraded.

depends on your budget i say, if u can afford like what asriznet say, upgrade to max when u buy retina then u won't have to think abt upgrade in future.
If not, then u can consider the non-retina mbp which u can upgrade the memory & hdd in future.

Thanks,is the non retina mbp laggy as compared to the retina version? N I read batt life only 5hr+,is it true?

MBPr, u cannot upgrade to Retina screen if u get MBP 2012.
and tat screen is very nice.

Is there is a need to charge the battery to full or use up the battery before charging it. For purpose of charging it for the first time, how long must I charge? Thanks much for the advice in advance.

You don't need to charge it for 8 hours like how we were taught previously. Just start using it as per normal and charge when necessary.

It is recommended to fully discharge the battery and do a full charge once a month to maximize battery life(use till below 10% and do a full charge to 100%)

The myth of DO NOT leave the power adaptor plugged in all the time is no longer true - macs are smart enough to stop charging when it reaches 100% or maximum full charge. but if you're paranoid, just pull it away - the magsafe connector makes it easy to connect/disconnect the power adaptor.

Cos all rmbp are ssd disk so boot up, app launching & etc will be faster. If u change the mbp to ssd, then more or less the same.
Battery I am not sure.
Only main diff like what many said is the display.
For stuff like proc, gfx, unless you need to have them, normal usage won't find differences.

Get the retina one, I'm waiting to upgrade my current one when the next MBP refresh is out next year.
