Hi all,

my battery recently got this service battery warning. I have a macbook pro early 2011 (warranty ends in june).

If i bring to service centre, they will replace the battery for me?

I have also changed my hdd to a ssd, if i change back to get the warranty service, will they know?

Thanks all for advice.

I experienced the same thing as you did. Had an SSD inside my MBP13 Early 2011. Didn't have to remove it. It's supposed to be a user accessible part. Doesn't void warranty.

Wear and tear of the battery will not entitle the end user to a free replacement of the battery. Only when the battery cannot power up the laptop or if the battery cannot hold charge then will be replaced FOC. Sometimes have to bang the table harder if they refused to replace it. Applecare is more of a insurance against defects to the motherboard or the LCD screen.

in addition to your case, they do have a benchmark, for example, below 800 cycle count, if the capacity diminish by more then 30%, they will replace. something like that

so you don't have to wait until the battery really die until cannot die then change.
