As my family will be leaving for Malaysia from tomorrow for a week, I have inserted a Malaysian Hotlink SIM card (stated expires in Dec'13) into my spare iPhone 4s.

Despite numerous attempts in re-inserting, cleaning etc the msg "No Sim Card Installed" persists.

When i replaced with my current Singtel sim there is no issue at all. Have even reset the phone's settings but to no avial.

Any advise? thanks in advance.

if the sim card is expired, will not prompt that no sim installed de.
It is most probably a faulty sim card that you have bought. Cos if expired, all you need to do is topup the sim card with credit the expiry date will auto extend

Nv top up, could have been suspended
Check b4 u top it up

Advice : if u buy top up voucher or top up card, activate it immediately
Even when u buy it and don't use it immediately and even within expiry date, it'll still expire

I beg to differ. I bought my top up card and activated it it didn't extend my expiry. Called the CSO and they told me have to top up after expiry then it will extend. Digi BTW.

Noted

Mine was a top up voucher from a 7-11 kiosk for U MOBILE

tried to top up, it claims the pin was "invalid":vijayadmin:

So best is buy when u need it and top up immediately
