To be clear, all the ITXes have WiFi but Fatal1ty Gaming ITX (The one with thunderbolt connectivity and red box) and MSI Pro Carbon have double the WiFi throughput in the Intel AC-8260 than the rest of the ITXs.

I bought the asrock myself and have my personal take here, unfortunately only 2 shops carry it I think.

Not that I would straight out say go 1080 Ti, because the heat output is more substantial and depending on the ITX case, it might be harder to cool the card and will dump more heat back into the case unless its a blower style cooler. But 1070 Ti - 1080 Ti are all worth considering. ITX need abit of planning and balance. If a 1080 Ti runs too hot (not saying it will), you may end up reducing the power limit on the card.

I see that you are using an ITX case too, have you heard of any reviews of the Phanteks Evolv Shift/Shift X? How is the thermal performance of an ITX case?

Seems that pc themes carry the Asrock Z370M ITX AC, if their price list is true. Likely to get all my stuff there as I've read better reviews of this shop.

As for GPU, according to userbenchmark, average increase of 38% for $460 extra... Wonder if it's worth it? (OEM Zotac GTX 1080Ti @ $1259, Zotac GTX 1070Ti @ $799). If the GPU runs too hot, what does reducing power limit mean? Will it result in damage to the GPU?

But no harm asking PCT if they would borrow stocks from other shops anyway

I would say for itx in general
-Will the GPU be air starved, anything obstructing the card?
-PSU try to get modular ?
(because there's not much space to waste in ITX)
-Have dust filters or not?
-House enough 3.5" and 2.5" drive slots u planned?
-Most importantly, will your GPU dimensions fit the case.

But i have no experience with that case but looks very classy but glad it helped so far.

What is a good modular PSU, and what kind of power is needed for my rig?

There's 1 x 3.5" and 3 x 2.5", i think enough for my 1 SSD and 1 HDD. And according to the specs, max gpu length is 350mm. Is this enough for a 1070ti/1080ti?

Biggest question is how to tell if the GPU is air starved..

What singupingu said and you picked previously would work for the PSU

The part about whether your GPU would do well in the ITX case you picked is a wildcard. It's a commercially new model (mid 2017) and there aren't a lot builds out there on this particular case. It's always the case of either you dip your toes into the water first or learn from someone else's mistake posted on the internet. With my particular case, it was released in 2015 by the time I owned it there were plenty of builds out already deciding on GPUs weren't that difficult.

The point I was driving at is 1080 Ti is a 250W TDP card while 1080/1070 Ti is 180W so its a given that its easier to cool the 1080/1070 Ti without a lot of comparisons and googling, hoot without thinking hard. But if you wanted to push the limits with the GPU (and case) given your budget, its best to find out from someone else who already tried and if it worked.

Sorry if I don't exactly know what you want, but at least I've helped narrow down some options on other parts that I'm more familiar with. Also, the mounting on the evolv shift is different from conventional cases with standard mounting out there (some components have different mounting options), best to look up the owners club and videos abit and plan accordingly is what I'm suggesting.

If you want a 1080ti, get the MSI Sea Hawk or EVGA Hybrid. Remember though, they come with a hefty price. Phanteks Shift/X is meant to use AIO got your cpu and/or gpu, dumping the heat out of the chassis asap. If air cooler, a reference design or Blower style card like Asus Turbo, MSI Aero and Founder's Edition GPU is highly recommendable. This chassis don't really have a commendable airflow. So, using open air gpu and air cooler for cpu, will eventually build up heat in the chassis.

Phanteks Shift/X is meant to use AIO got your cpu and/or gpu, dumping the heat out of the chassis asap.

i saw alot pics showing aio on cpu - the rad at bottom 2 tubings vertical to cpu/pump at highest point
wudn't air collect at the pump this way, esp when system turn off...?

Closed loop aio not supposed to have too much air gap. Just a little bit enough to move the water in the loop only. And it's sealed tight. So no air supposed to goes in too.

The air gap will slowly make its way to the pump for sure. But starting the pump would gush the air along perhaps? No way to investigate as closed loop aio are sealed and opaque.
