I studied in local poly IT, results not so good then went to study business in of the Go8 in Australia.

Results were good/above avg. However, job wise went back to IT (IT Project Manager) and honestly not very stellar because due to lack of bachelors in IT. Im still interested in IT.

Now at a disadvantage because Im already 36 this year.

Should I go for a second degree in IT or masters in IT? Is masters in IT even useful?

Also will local uni consider me if I already have an overseas degree? Any advice is appreciated

yeah local U will consider ur application as long as u have a degree. don't matter if its via distance or on campus.

also, maybe look into NTU's Masters in Info Sys, might be that 'something' u could get to bridge the gap between Business and IT.

I think you all dont quite get me but answered it somewhat...

is it worth it for me to go for a second degree in IT or should i just go for masters in IT?

my degree is from Group of Eight and results I would say my results are slightly above average, barely meet the so-called cut off or miss by a bit (for Masters) based on the CAP score required for masters

i think singapore the way we hire is still based on experience.

not sure what IT exactly is but IT now is v popular, unless it is some kind of subject that jobs r not abundant, if u can get into a masters, dont have to worry they say u overqualified since u r alr working in IT.

but since u r alr in the industry, the easiest way for u is to ask around senior ppl or ppl in other companies which do they value more.

go for masters bah. the commotion now is that sgp not skilled enuff in things like computing so hire foreigners. usually foreigners have single or even double masters and job exp regardless indian or angmoh. just go for the higher qualification and gain ur regional exposure.

Masters degree looks better on paper than having 2 Bachelors. Best if you can do a double major and get 2 Bachelors at the same time followed by a Masters. Good luck!

You will need an undergraduate before you can get a postgraduate. While a master takes less time than a degree. I would recommend master as its dig deeper into a specialise knowledge area, without general-education requirement.

double majors does not equate to double degrees.

If you are still in IT job, masters may give you a boost to management positions. Otherwise you may take courses from CITREP+ to give you technical expertise to move horizontally.
