Can you try below step, see if it solve your issue.

1. unplug SSD and HDD
2. Enter bios setup page
3. Press F5 enter, F10 enter.
4. System will reboot and press power off button.
5. Plug-in only SSD and power up your system.
6. After enter windows, shut down your system.

Please let me know the result. Thank you

Hi I have done the following: remove CMOS batt, unplug all hdd except os ssd and also USB peripherals except mouse and kb. After restarting, enter os and load optimized defaults. Still same problem.

I did everything again this time using another psu and set of rams, same result.

I got a maximus iv gene and a maximus v gene. Good leh. I like. But no haswell chip yet so no maximus iv gene for me yet. I like asus stuff. Since a7v133 days of the 90s. Generally quite good. But all brands will have duds that need rma la..
