Hi Peeps

It's my first time to TW, would like to hear some views and of course suggestions on my plan to see if its viable.

Tentative plan is:
Taichung > Cingjing > Hehuanshan > Hualian > Taipei

Am not very sure how many days to allocate for each location, hence would be thankful if anyone can suggest?

I'm also thinking if I can cover Cingjing and Hehuanshan in a day? Or is it recommended to stay 1 night each at both places? Or??

If I wish to visit Sun Moon Lake, is it possible to do it together with Cingjing? Looks like its on the way yet, seems far.

And along this route, is there any recommended minsu to stay in? Economical and clean.

Hope to hear from you guys! :D

11d10N can go many places

maybe you list down the places that you wanna go 1st

then roughly plan out your itinerary

generally i think taichung, 2 days is enough, cingjing 3 day 2 night, hualien 2 day 1 night, taipei 4 day 3 night, since its your 1st time in taiwan, can stay taipei longer also

There's no way you can cover all the places de... just make the best out of the time you have lor....

if you like it, plan another trip to go other places :)

FYI It's already my 5th trip to taiwan this coming april...

People will like to go Hehuanshan is to see 日出,if not is to see snow between end Dec-Jan. So quite agree to not staying at hehuanshan, unless they like the feel of being at high altitude.

Wow! thanks for the input, guys!! Very nice pics you have, sflow_00.
Have 2 more questions.

1)Is it possible to over hehuanshan and taroko together in a day?
2)How long does it take to travel from cingjing to hehuanshan? Am thinking if I can make it for the 日出, or else don't bother visiting hehuanshan?

From my knowledge here. It's can la. But then the poor driver have to wake up early early, drive up to Hehuanshan from Cingjing then reach hualien via 天祥... Then into Taroko gorge. Then see if he willing to drop you into Taroko area to snap snap before going into minsu or hotel lor.

This one u need to coordinate with booking and driver.

Hi

From cingjing to hehuansan about 1 hour. You can see beautiful sea clouds. Yes there is sunrise tour by e-go bus. You can book with most minsu, abt 400 twn.

From hehuansan to taroko I thik abt 3-4 hrs. Quite far away. If u r only 2 pax may not be economical cos it abt 5-6k twn per car.
There are a lot of gd local food in hualien. Can stay 1-2nites there.

If i wish to give the 日出 a miss, is it still worth going up hehuanshan? Nothing much to see/explore?

Yea, it is only 2 pax, so it'd be more advisable to go hualian straight from hehuanshan?

I'm thinking since it's my first time, perhaps I should not to be so ambitious to explore far away places?

Perhaps spend more time in just Taichung, Taipei, Miaoli, Yilan and perhaps Hsinchu?

I would say try Taichung, Nantou, Hsinchu and Taipei. And then next trip, try Hualien, Yilan and Taipei again. Take it easy, don't overspend on transport. Simply no point to do that.

just a suggestion.

keep it slow. dont spend all your precious time on transport. at beautiful places like cingjing and taroko, you need sit down, relax, listen to birds chipping and think abt life. hahaha

u need 2 nights at cingjing (u need to walk the many featured trails: http://www.cingjing.gov.tw/en/spots/index3.php, swiss garden, sheep farm, recreation ctr, hotspring and hehuanshan sunrise. Locals there suggest to me to stay 2 nights to experience this place. can also ask them to suggest you some good local eateries where no tourists know. this link shows u even more things to do http://www.cingjingbus.tw/cingjing.html),

2 nights at taroko (u need one full day to walk many trails like baiyang trail and sadakang trail, they are superb),

1 night at hualien (u must visit the 2 night markets there, cycle along beach, a marine theme park and go for famous whale watching).

you can visit more places next time. its wiser to spend a good time at a few places rather than rushing, regret not enough time and come back again.

less is more.

Wow!! Thanks for the wonderful suggestions. I think since May's sort of spring over there, perhaps should just plan my route in this manner:

Taipei > Yilan > Hualian > Taipei

Can anyone suggest places to visit in Yilan and Hualian?

Planning to visit Taroko Gorge together too..

Hi

Share with you my blog on yilan and hualien:

http://www.wretch.cc/blog/sflow00&category_id=15721975

For yilan can visit national folk centre. It like old street with shops and food. The hotspring in jiaoxi is very famous - leave a smooth feeling after bath. You can look at this new open hotspring hotel: Smoking Rock. You can just go for hotspring only. See review here:
http://www.wretch.cc/blog/6752468

If u can stay 2 days in yilan can go taipingshan. If interested to see sunrise need to stay somewhere near there.

For hualien u can get a driver to taroko gorge, liyu lake, qixintan. If u can book the driver for 2 days can explore other places too. Can my post here for 2d1n hualien: http://www.tripadvisor.com.sg/ShowTopic-g293913-i9546-k5139521-2N_in_hualien_what_to_do-Taipei.htm
