I am surprised there is not much talk about this high interest account by MayBank.

I did a calculation and assuming there is $50,000 in the account, and you fulfill 3 items out of 9, you get an interest rate of 2.99% P.A.

This is so far, the only bank I noticed who did not exaggerate the interest rate, but rather DOWNPLAYED it in their promotions. (2.75% bonus is on the entire $50,000 and there is 0.1875% on first $3000 and 0.25% on next $47,000).

I am eyeing this with 3 items fulfilled. 1) GIRO SALARY IN 2) GIRO INCOME TAX OUT > $300 and 3) Credit Card Spend > $500.

Any opinions anyone?

This will be good for anyone who have high cash flow on their accounts. I would still recommend FD if anyone keen to save up for long term.

My opinion is the no matter how good, it is still a Malaysian bank. Unsure if it is trustworthy compared to the others.
