would like to ask. if as a poly student after bmt go into ocs . willing to sign on as officer. but heard if no degree or uni placing will stuck at ME4A .

I dont think you are eligible for ME4 if you have no degree. If you are commissioned as an officer, then mdes is not for you as it only offers me1 based on ur diploma

For MDES, its dependent on education and also vocation. For e.g. if you sign on as Airforce Engineer and you have diploma, you will start off as ME1. But if you have degree and sign on as Airforce Engineer you start off as ME4.

But if you are signing on as Airforce Engineer (Maintenance) or Airforce Engineer (Flight Engineer), then regardless of education, you will start off as ME1.

ME4 and above is "kind of" considered officer where else ME3 and below is "kind of" like WOSE. Some vocations don't need officers, WOSE will do. Likewise, some vocations don't need ME4 & above, ME3 & below will do.

I've meet afew ME4A before.

This is the step they take for people who want to sign on as airforce officer scheme with diploma
9 weeks BMT
9 months OCS
6 months Airforce training command school as ME4A
Few months/years of getting posted into unit to gain experience as ME4A
Go for degree course sponsored by SAF
Come back become ME4-1 and start working.

Sign on as officer is more than 7 years of contract.
