MicroSD card reader for iPhone 5S?

Anyone tried before using MicroSD card reader for iPhone 5S? Saw a few at eBay but wondering if it works?

Do I need to jailbreak to access the files? Can I transfer the file to iPhone or just viewing only?

Please advise!
