If you are on a budget, get at least a b150 chipset mb like
-Asus B150i PRO GAMING AURA
-MSI B150i GAMING PRO AC
-Gigabyte H170N-Wifi
-Asrock H170-Itx/AC
H110 chipset will be adequate, especially for mITX form factor where users tend to have lesser demand with less components installed. PCIe 2.0 limitation on the H110 is also not a limitation since even the latest, highest end graphics card cannot saturate PCIe 2.0 x16's bandwidth:

get that gigabtyle as u have a wifi build in.

lmao all have wifi build in la
only difference is lighting for asus as it has aura and only gigabyte have usb-type c

as for audio,
asus and gigabyte utilize ALC1150 codec
while msi and asrock utilize ALC887 and 892 codec repectively

still, for future upgrades and stuff now spending 50-100 more is no dif from buyin a new motherboard that supports all this feature next time

For the first time i am hearing a specific chipset can corrode its entire motherboard lineup. :s22:

Corrosion maybe due to environment humidity rather than questionable motherboard I/O panel alloy mix. :s22:

H110 chipset line of mobos is the most basic mb line and the I/o is not stainless steel, thus on many kinds of environment it will corrode very quickly. also, 5k capacitor vs 10k capacitor on b150/h170 chipset line of mobos is a great different too

I think you need to substantiate your claims...

5K vs 10K won't make any useful difference especially when your motherboard cannot even OC CPU on this motherboard, VRMs and caps can only run warm. As long as there's adequate cooling, 5K will have no difference from 10K.

I can assure you those 'upgrades' you have in your mind won't even materialise. Those newer features coming over next few years will render those features implemented on today's motherboards inferior. $50-100 more is simply utter waste of money.

5-6 years back buyers all flock to get their expensive motherboards with shiny blue USB 3.0 ports when they came on mainstream using 3rd-party implementation, i.e. Intel 5 & 6 series chipsets. Following years down the road, their 3rd-party implementation can't even fight against chipset native implementation in both speed and reliability, found on even the cheapest, lowest end motherboards.

Worse still, most people just build their PC once and for all and calls it a day. Just use and throw when spoilt.

Downgrade you mean?

TS have you really tested your Core i7 CPU on another motherboard before deeming it 'faulty'?
CPU hardly goes faulty...

I'm gonna test on my old MSI P67 board.. albeit I can't confirm the workability of it.
Faulty chip is claimed by svc ctr, not me. I agree with ur last statement.

I don't intend to downgrade, in fact I hope they go as long as 3 more years to make the new mobo worthy.
If i were you, i will go to the extent of hooting Z77 mITX motherboard from Amazon/Taobao to revive this Core i7 gem....

watever problems with your 1st mb? and your 2nd mb? period of time the 2nd mb used before problem? have you tried to troubleshoot them? maybe this may help isolate if cpu is faulty, or maybe even other components.
