MiniPC?

Hey.

Anyone has any recommendations for a miniPC? The sort that you can attach the the rear of a monitor?

My parents' computer is getting old and I was thinking of getting them a new one.

Mostly used for YouTube @ 1080p, light office work, email. No heavy gaming.

You can consider Minix Neo. It is much cheaper than Intel NUCs and should be fine for non-gaming.

It's an Atom chip though. Is that good enough? Those seem to be used more for Compute Sticks.

1080p is ok . 4K is another story .

J3455 one is too expensive for its price might as well get a laptop .

Also along these lines, Kaby Lake has implemented full fixed function 8-bit encode and 8/10-bit decode support for Google’s VP9 codec. Skylake offered hybrid decode support for the codec, which is useful from a feature standpoint, but is a bit more problematic in real-world use since it’s not as power-efficient to use VP9 a codec implemented in fixed function hardware.

So... yea. Just give up.

Grab the Z83II for US$90 lor. Unless you want to spend SGD$80 just for an ITX case and PSU to house a Kaby Lake.

i've also been toying around with minipc, compute stick and mini-itx.. basically to replace my bloody dying samsung laptop which boots super slow.

The max storage on 32GB!

Any other recommendations? I do like the Minix Form Factor a lot!
