my elderly, disabled, fragile, wheel chaired mother was positive Covid yesterday (using ART).

This morning helper bring her to see doctor, doctor tell her to go another place to do swab test.

Later I ask them another difference to my mother to do swab test. We only need the medicine. She is now weak to travel.
Seems they don't understand.

I tear the appt paper and throw back at them.
Scold them for being heartless and cannot see my mother so weak now.
They all quiet.

Really cannot tahan.

PCR test not all clinic can do. Did you insist on PCR test? Maybe you need PCR test result to claim somethings. We all don’t know.
If you want PCR test, should go polyclinic in the first place. If you are loaded, then go private hospital.

TS, i understand your frustration, but please direct it correctly.

U think the healthcare workers earn big $$? at public hospitals, they are also salaried employees like us.

Pay is not high at all, maybe 5-6k for a doctor only.

dont anyhow scold, they are following procedure. to you, your elderly mom is just 1, to them, they see maybe 100s of patients like her a day.... so of coz abit robot liao.

if i were u i just wheel her back home or dont even leave the house just buy panadol. sometimes healthcare use your own discretion also better, if u already know she got covid, then go test for what? just stay home and rest.

All the while has been like that. When I went to a clinic in 2020, they also gave me a letter and redirected me to another clinic 300m away to do the PCR swab test.

TS, may be you should calm down and type more clearly. You said you went to a doctor, I assumed it's a GP and then you jumped to blaming ministry of health? That's not making sense. GP is GP. Ministry of health is Ministry of health.

I brought my kid with running nose to polyclinics and they did an art for him right on the sport. Medicines prescribed and dispensed. Art result sent to my hand phone within 10 minutes.

So, where exactly you sent your mum?
