just recontract my mobile from sinktel this month and got a samsung edge, i received 3 sms so far informing me that they had charged $3.99 to my singtel account thru mLove http://ffun.mobi weekly. I have no recollection of subscribing to this. is this some kind of scam from my carrier or some bloatware phone bug?

Call ST. Last time I recontract, came home to find something similar. Apparently it's something "auto-activated" during the recontract process, WITHOUT my knowledge. Your case may be similar, so best to call them to check if you're sure you didn't accidentally do it. Mine happened almost immediately so the culprit was pretty obvious.

Wanted to file a complaint with IDA but was too tired by then - took a few days/weeks to resolve coz junk was still coming in, and CSOs seemed clueless about how to completely stop such an unauthorized activation.

Convey Global Pte Ltd is the company behind all these unauthorised mobile gaming subscriptions. My dad was scammed by them. Everyone, please take note!

seriously crap. How did singtel act as a proxy to charge the bill to consumers?
a lot phone users in higher age group protect them self from online/mobile money scam by not giving any details or not doing any bank related service from phone/internet.
They choose to go to bank branch to handle all these.
But telecom opens the gateway for these company to charge them through their bill.

what could be done?
