MMI Psychiatrist Interview HELP

Hey guys, been making some progress. Got diagnosed with severe depression with psychotic symptoms and saw the SAF counsellor, who said that 'being in NS will only make your condition worse' and that 'I will ask th psychiatrist to strongly push for a PES F'

Having anxiety and social issues too, I'm afraid of the psychiatrist and I think I need to be discharged in order to start recovering from my illness.

What would you adviae I should tell the doc, and do you think I will get PES F?

and if I do, will he announce PES F immediately and it will take effect on the spot or will I need to be warded and observed? I was warded in IMH recently and it was the worst experience of my life. I don't want to be warded again.

Tell the doc the truth. We are not the doctor, we can think as much as we like but still wouldn't affect the doc's decision.

If you're afraid to speak to the doctor, you can write a diary to express yourself. What your saf counsellor said is quite true. Most military environment is different from civilian ones even whether you're a clerk or storemen. Some people with mental condition can worsen in military lifestyle due to different social pressures. It depends on different individual.

No one here knows whether you be discharge. It's up to the doctor. There's no advice anyone here can give you. Like what reddevil said, you should be honest and tell your doctor everything, include your fears of being warded and want to be discharged because your condition is becoming worse.

Hi there I was in your shoes, and I am certain the counsellor should have already spoken to the SAF Psychiatrist in charge of your case regarding his recommendation for your downgrade. That coming from he counsellor would mean that they have acknowledged your case to be a genuine. If I remembered correctly, it is standard procedure to be warded for a week or two in the SAF ward.

However, if being warded within the SAF ward worsens your condition like it did to mine, you can always seek your own psychiatrist or speak to the SAF one regarding your discomfort. Just be honest and do not push yourself too hard, if something makes you anxious and uneasy sound it off immediately as holding it in can worsen your condition even further.
