Hi, I have mob manning notification from last year which I totally forgot and have already book a trip overseas for 2 weeks + which clash with the mob manning amber period.

I try to defer online and explain to them the situation but I got denied from deferment for that 2 weeks +.

Any idea what will happen if I just go overseas trip and kana activated?

Cause I read somewhere mentioned as long as got passport stamp I can show them proof I went overseas hence cannot make it for the mob manning, but since I got rejected online on ns portal, it doesnt seem to be a good reason anymore.

Anyone have such experience before can share?

To be very certain, since you mentioned “already” so you booked it before or after receiving notification?

I book after the notification cause I forgot about that until they send another notification as a reminder.
my company leave is balloting style, and just nice they ballot 1 month before the first notification. I used that to try to defer, but they just say The mob notification was broadcast on when and when and overseas personal trips is not supported during manning.

mindef already gave advanced and even multiple reminders so actually there are no reasons for NSmen to "forget".

maybe for the first time they will give warning.. subsequent ones will be fines etc.

So all agree the consequence will be either warning or fine right? Low to no chance of DB?

you must be kidding me?

You rely on "all agree" here to make your decision?

So if you end up going to DB, you go tell the person charging you, "HWZ people all agree that the consequence will be either warning or fine, why you send me to DB"?

really???

How do I do that? At best I have is my pc and maybe my OC number. What I fear is that if I went thru them and it still fails and I decided to go for my trip it might cause a bigger punishment since I kinda went against their orders

PC should have your OC number. OC should have your CO number.

If all else fail, contact NS hotline to ask them to get someone in your unit to call you. Then ask them to help you get in touch with your CO lor.

tbh, I think in either case the very fact that you are posting what your intention is here, even if you don't contact your PC, you will still have bigger punishment.

fren.... i am totally clueless and very interested to understand your level of understanding to the Mindef or SAF's system..

there is such a thing called NS HOTLINE, whereby you can contact your unit for whatever excuses or reasons and even request for anything.. or whatever it is.

i seriously do not see why u could have mentioned that "at best you have is your PC and maybe OC's number".

in this case, how are you even aware that there is such a forum and thread here?

if u really need something harsh to happen in your life so that u will learn, i hope this serves u well...

btw, when is your manning period?? at least update us on your closure of your case.

p.s - no wonder people are calling the SAF now weaks.
