Hi, I need advice about having a postpaid subscription in Batam. My brother is posted to Batam for a 12-15 months project. What is the economical mobile subscription to get and which Telco company will give better wifi and mobile data plan? We have completely no idea how to go about getting it. Pls advise as much info as you know. Appreciate that.

Also, does he need a dual sim card handphone or its better to use a separate phone?

Check telkomsel website for simpati prepaid cards with 30 days validity, just top up every 30 days lor.... local indon SIM card is good for local calls. If only data required or if you are with M1 in Singapore, purchase data passport for $10 each month.

Edit: search in the Travelling Batam thread in Travels

The most reliable Telco in Indonesia is Telkomsel due to its wide coverage and the majority of local are using Prepaid Simpati Card by Telkomsel.

Post paid is not commonly used.
