Thought to revive thread since the new XS and XSMax are out.
With Applecare+ at 368 the mobile swop program (9.90 per month for at least 12 months) for Singtel doesn't seem to bad. I'm guessing most people are getting either one as a precaution/insurance in case the screen cracks or there's some accidental damage. If there isn't any damage throughout the 2 year period, outlay on Applecare+ is 368 while Singtel's is 9.90 x 24 = 237.6.
However, if there's a screen crack, Applecare+ will charge 42 while mobileswop will require 260. So in the 2 year period, total will be Applecare = 410, Mobileswop = 497.6. This doesn't look as good a deal now, though the Applecare still requires you to go to the apple store to get a replacement while mobileswop is meant to deliver the swapped handset to your home/office.
Singtel is releasing a special bundle this year with the XS/XSMax by bundling apple music, Data X4 (new add-on) and mobile-swop for 26.90 per month (contract for 24 months). On top of that, they're reducing the price of the iphone by 100 when you get this package.
So if you're keen on DataX4 and Apple Music, you're saving 39.78 - 26.90 = 12.88 per month and another 100 upfront. I think the pricing for DataX4 is a little high though (Apple Music = 9.98, Mobile swop = 9.90 so DataX4 is 19.90) as DataX3 is only 9.90 per month.
Better to get applecare+ still or move to the new apple bundle?
