... if on my current mobo , I have certain settings changed from default ( like disabling onboard sound , disabling certain usb 3 ports ) .

and I were to get another exact same model mobo but lower spec processor ( say 4670 vs 4770 ) to replace the current while retaining all other parts ( gfx , sound card , hdd ) , I shd b able to boot into windows after changing those altered settings in bios to whats on the current mobo ?

what other possible complications might b encountered ?

what if the bios version on both same model mobo are different ?

Onboard sound and USB3.0 ports are not component that affect the WPA or reactivation.

Each component listed in the table is 1 hardware hash, you need more than 7 hardware hash to trigger the reactivation or BSOD if the mini driver of the hard drive controller/mode are different on the replacement motherboard. However, please take note of the NIC/onboard LAN, this component worth 3 hardware hash alone.

Refer to the link above for detail information on which scenario require reactivation.

From information given as above, unlikely the installed WinXP will end up with BSOD or reactivation require.
