Mobo or mouse problem?

From then, the mouse n keyboard have so much lag that they are almost unusable. I changed to another brand new wireless mouse but reuse the keyboard. All my new n old peripherals are logitech which i think using 2.4ghz frequency. Mouse seems to get better for a while but still quite laggy. So i removed the USB wireless adapters of these peripherals and plug them to the front USB ports instead. It got much better but occasionally still got lag.

I had a similar issue as yours. For me, the issue was the RAM. I had 2 pieces of Gloway 16 GB 2400Mhz DDR4 (total 32GB running in Dual Channel mode), which is not stated as compatible with my motherboard. To resolve it:
1. Either take out 1 piece of 16GB RAM
2. Use other RAM

this is something not on the ordinary course of recommendation after all the troubleshooting...if you really want to use a wireless mouse may I suggest you go get a Logitech M590 (silent) mouse?

Personally I have a Thinkpad notebook that my wireless mouse (G703 wireless gaming) even when using wired mouse also facing lagging and sometimes even jumping cursor which some might not believe...but after I got this Logitech M590 silent mouse (aprox. S$50 or lesser) everything is smooth and no more lagging and jumping..i think sometime it is the windows 10 issues on hardware support

if you think it is not worth getting a new Logitech M590 mouse for testing, then I suggest its better call Aftershock for troubleshoot since it is less than a month old system.

If you are willing to try, it could help you to silent all the noises around you just saying

If you are not comfortable doing update firmware by your self you can view some YouTube guide or cantact Aftershocks to assist.

Is nothing to do with price. Your original mouse is defective.

You are absolutely correct that what I thought too initialy, not until I try it again my PC and triton 700 notebook both working perfectly then I unable to send my G703 wireless for RMA

After i setup the gigabyte B550i, i plugged in the usual mouse+keyboard and other USB devices at the back of the tower. The stock wireless ax antenna is also connected to its dedicated points.

Update Chipset/re-install
Change PCIE TO 3.0
Disable Global C Sate


if all fails, get aftershock to sort it out for u, as its their job and that is want the warranty is for.

however, be prepared to wait at least 1 week of turnaround time.

they are pretty slow.

Based on what I read and my testing, if you avoid using the USB 2.0 ports, it should be fine. Another reason based on my experience for wireless peripherals having spotty connection is because of the WIFI antenna. Because both are using 2.4 channel, so may cause some issue. My mouse pointer may drift by itself even when I am not touching it. Moving the USB dongle to the front stopped the problem.

try changing the things i listed and see if it works first, before u try to flash. new bios have USB improvements and micro-code update. even my gigabyte board also.

don't worry, your Board has a Q-Flash button at the back, so even if something went wrong during BIOS Update . you can still flash back to your previous bios.


my board has the Q-Flash button on the board PCB, which make it less easy to access. . yours is at the back. of the Rear IO ( White USB)

Hi... I have the same issue with Logitech wireless peripherals on a B550 mobo (Asus ROG strix). no.. is not CPU problem.. is chipset problem.. AMD is aware and working on a fix..

Some suggestion for now is to force PCI-e 3.0 on your motherboard.. they r not sure if this is the issue, just that majority of users with the problem happen to have PCI-e 4.0 devices..

I use a long USB hub to place it some distance away from the pc. Now the mouse works fine. Hence for a few months i just leave it there.... Inherent problem not resolved. Dunno if i should still troubleshoot it. It's like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

one thing I do notice is this usb disconnect thing never happens when I'm in the BIOS, even with the same devices and same USB port being used. so it's probably something that loads up with the OS, but who knows what it is...

Yes that was initially the solution but I find it wasteful to take up the 2 precious front USB ports. So must have alternative solution. Luckily someone suggested to use ext USB hub.

Logitech unifying products run on 2.4ghz

There's definitely going to be interference, since so many products run on the already congested 2.4ghz frequency. Like router wifi signal and bluetooth devices.

If you have built in wifi/bluetooth on your motherboard, need to take care where you plug in your receivers.
