MOE Kindergarten vs MyFirstSkool?

Hi, my kid is currently enrolled at MFS since 18 months old.

He did manage to get allocated a place at a MOE kindergarten nearby.

Wondering if anything to consider or tips on what would be a better option?

Staying in his current school till he has to go to Primary school or go to MOE Kindergarten now and get accustomed to a new environment?

So far, are there any elite primary school with kindergartens ? I doubt so, because the mad rush for the kindy places will be unthinkable. So I don't think there will be plans to have kindergartens in popular primary school.

childcare vs kindergarten. you're comparing apple with orange.

childcare environment is 7am to 7pm, kindergarten is just 3-4hrs.

childcare kids are more sociable , kindergarten kids more booksmart (these are what primary school teachers say)

both are good. why not you ask your child if he's ok to change school. don't forget he's a little human too with feelings and emotions. many times parents forget that and just make decisions for their own kids. nothing wrong, but remember, kids do remember

Is he happy in his current school? If yes, I wont change anything... just let him stay til primary.

oh well, whether is it housed in or outside of the school, falling sick etc is part and parcel if gg to cc/ school. we just have to build the immunity of our kids lor..

after all the inputs and checking in with the little man, we decided to let him continue in his current school

once you put your child in school, falling sick is the norm. can't escape that. build up their immunity and practice good hygiene. often i see kids just sneeze or cough without coveriing mouth and just act like nothing

anyway, falling sick cannot escape cause in singapore, tell me where got no confined environment? mrt also packed. bus also, lifts. playground. if your kid dont get it in school, they'll get it elsewhere

please go and see where the MOE kindergardens are and which phase they are eligibile for.

I would say you have to decide the primary school the MOE kindergarden is one you would like him to go to, if yes, then actually going there would be better now, cos most of the K1/K2 classes will enter primary 1 together. And they will be very used to the primary sch environment already.

if you have better options than it probably does not matter.

the accustomed to new environment is not a very big factor IMHO, I would rather my kid be able to adapt to new environments, but thats me.
