Mole removal procedure discussion

I just went for mole removal at an aesthetics clinic and the doctor only managed to remove the mole halfway. He said that it was very deep and I needed to come back again. It was a branch operation. I originally signed up for radio frequency ablation, but the clinic screwed up my schedule, so I asked if there was any other clinics. I went down to a different clinic.

It took surprisingly long, the doctor had to inject me with licodaine three times and it actually still hurt, like a sharp jabbing pain.

Has anyone else here gone through a similar experience?

No...my mole was raised so the doctor did a CO2 and "burnt" it off after applying numbing cream.

There's still a pale mark as the aftermath, but she did warned of it potentially leaving mark and may need to use PICO to remove it...

What kind of mole was it diagnosed as and the method of removal? Excision? Laser?

My mole was not diagnosed except the doctor today said that it was very deep and I needed to come back a second time in a month's time, for a follow-up and a second session to conplete the job. He said that the recovering skin will push what's left of the mole upwards and outwards ....

I was told it was radio-frequency though it felt more like a plasma pen.......I could smell my own burning meat (smelled like BBQ prawns.

I was surprised at how painful it was.....all the online reviews I read said it was painless and yet I could felt the pain despite taking 3 licodaine injections to that spot ........

Hope it is recovering well so far. Maybe can consult a derm or another doctor for 2nd opinion given how painful it was. Or maybe tell the dr and ask them to apply numbing cream to the layer before injecting licodaine? Yeah the burning smell when the pigment/mole is being "cooked" is always a bit annoying haha

That's the problem, numbing cream was indeed applied plus another 3 lidocaine injections, which seems a lot and it dosnt seem normal

Wa which clinic, if u dun mind sharing? I've had a few moles removed via laser and it's always removed in one sitting lei. Not painful also.

I've had a small one removed with just numbing + cooling device during laser.

Another bigger one is numb > local anesthesia > cooling device during laser

Another one I needed biopsy as it was changing in size so punch excision.

None of the above were painful

How big is ur mole?
How bad was ur pain?
What was ur mole removal method?

I don't think ur experience is the norm and mole removal shouldn't be painful especially after 3 jabs..

Is it good ? Can you share which clinic and the approx prices? I have more moles to remove. I did mine once in 2010 and it’s a straight removal for a protuding mole, fuss free and numbing cream. There is a slight mark still and am wondering whether I can seek further treatment to eradicate it where almost no mark can be sighted ?
